The brief
ABCmouse wanted a field-trip episode that made baseball approachable for young children while showcasing a legendary venue. It had to hold up for years on YouTube and fit the channel's hosts, characters, and learning goals.
“We treat a venue like this as a classroom.”
The approach
The episode moves through the stadium in segments built around the simple questions a preschooler would ask, with the hosts guiding kids from the seats to the field to the people who make game day happen, and on-screen graphics carrying the counting, the vocabulary, and the rules of the game, so every location teaches something.
How the day ran
Fenway gave us seven hours. We left with 81 shots.
Every shot was planned before we walked in: what it was, where it happened, which camera, and when.
Two units and a drone worked the park all day at once, on a schedule staggered so no crew ever ended up in another's frame. Mark directed all three, walking between them from the first setup to the last.
